Glass mosaic tile can be used in various beautiful applications from functional to artistic.

We can use them to blend in, accent or stand out in small areas or large blocks of space.

Glass mosaic tile are popular due to increase in technology allowing better manipulation. We can enjoy properties of intense colors, light reflection and the resistance to water. Working with glass has been difficult due to the high melting temperature.

The slow cooling process makes it stronger.

Our Installation challenge is the fact that glass is very rigid and breakable.

Glass mosaic tile was used as early as 2500 BC however, it was 3rd century BC artists in India, Persia and Greece officially made glass tiles.

Artists method is pouring Liquid glass onto Glass mosaic tile molding machine, and it is used to fill molds.

Then liquid glass is passed through rollers, cooled, and the cut glass pieces are hand placed on a tray to create a pattern.

The set glass is inspected and wiped down, covered, then flipped over to the backside so meshing can placed on the back to keep them together for packaging and shipping.

That is a very simplified summery of what I’m sure is one of many methods.
